2025 DSPY
After months of thoughtful planning and building upon the feedback from previous years, the 3rd Annual DSPY (Direct Support Professional of the Year) Awards took place on September 11, 2025, at the stunning Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center in Fairfax, VA.
It is DSPY's 2nd year at Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center, but we tried to keep the things that were great last year, the same. The tables dressed in crisp white linens and adorned with curated goodie bags from generous community partners who helped make the evening a remarkable success. Guests arrived in dazzling fashion, wearing bold colors and eye-catching patterns that brought energy and vibrancy to the celebration.
There was a slideshow of the 2025 DSPY nominees played on the projector screen, highlighting the individuals being honored for their exceptional work. There was delicious spread of food for everyone making it a perfect time for sharing a meal while mingling. Making a much-anticipated return for its third year, the fan-favorite ice cream cart was joined once again by a lively DJ and an engaging photobooth, both of which elevated the evening’s entertainment and guest experience.
Throughout the night, speakers and organizers took to the stage to deliver heartfelt, inspiring messages. They shared their personal motivations for working in the field and spoke passionately about each nominee—sharing moving stories that captured the essence of their impact and dedication.
The celebration concluded with more food, laughter, music, dancing, and meaningful connections—a night full of joy, gratitude, and community.
